Veterinary Involvement
Please remember to have your protocols to the veterinarians by July 6, 2009 to meet the deadline for the July IACUC meeting.
All animal use protocols are required to have veterinary review prior to submission to the IACUC. ULAR veterinarians are available for consultation during the entire animal use approval process.
NEW CHANGE: As of January 2009, protocol amendments requesting major changes (designated by * on amendment form) also require veterinary approval prior to IACUC submission. This change is being implemented to ensure we meet the requirements of the Animal Welfare Regulations. See http://orrp.osu.edu/iacuc/forms/amendmentform.cfm for specific information.
Protocols can be submitted electronically to ularvet@osu.edu or can be provided directly to the ULAR veterinarian for your facility. You can also drop off a hard copy to room 111 Wiseman Hall.
The College of Medicine and the College of Veterinary Medicine have developed subcommittees to assist in the protocol review process. A ULAR veterinarian participates in this review and will provide the final signature.
