Facility Transfers (internal movement)
When animals are moved between animal facilities, a ULAR Internal Transfer form (Form 105) must be completed.
Some animals may require additional testing before transfer to a cleaner ULAR facility for example:
- Colony testing and disease elimination.
- PI requests to move animals from a barrier or conventional room into a sterile room.
Testing costs will be billed to the PI. Quarantine periods vary, dependent upon tests required.
Completed form should be submitted to animal facility supervisor.
Protocol to Protocol Transfers
When animals move to a new protocol, OSU Form 104 Request for Animal Transfer must be completed.
This form should be completed for all protocol to protocol transfers regardless of if the physical space has changed for the animal and is available at the animal facility office.
Animal Transfers to Another Institution
Any animals transferring to a location not associated with The Ohio State University are considered as “exported." The Rodent Export Request form (Form-604) must be completed and either
- Dropped off at room A-31 Sisson Hall or
- E-mailed to AnimalTransport@osu.edu or
- Faxed to 614-292-2445
