How to Transfer Animals
Rodent Transportation Guidelines
- Secure cage lids with rubber bands or tape.
- Place cage in white ULAR bag when carrying through public areas (this includes all space outside of the facility).
- DISPOSABLE PPE GOWNS ARE NOT APPROPRIATE CAGE COVERS.
- White bags are provided by ULAR.
- Return bags to ULAR for sterilization and reuse.
- Use white ULAR bags to return dirty cages from lab.
- Protect animals from extreme temperatures.
- Do NOT transport animals in a car trunk.
- Make sure the car is appropriately warm in the winter and cool in the summer.
- Do NOT use public transportation (i.e. buses) to transport animals.
