Working Safely with Animals

Occupational Health Program

Participation in the university’s Occupational Health Program is mandatory for all faculty, staff, students and volunteers who work in university laboratory animal facilities or conduct research with animals or animal tissues.

Injury

If you receive an animal related injury or suspect a health problem related to your work with animals:

  • Report to your supervisor
  • Complete The Ohio State University Employee Accident Report
  • Proceed for help and treatment when warranted at:
    • Employee Health
      University Hospital’s Clinic (2-A Lobby, Room 2018A), 456 on West 10th Ave., 293-8146
    • Student Health Services
      1875 Millikin Road, 292-4321
    • OSU Emergency Room (after 4 PM), 293-8333
